SEN. SAMUEL ANYANWU MOURNS KOFFI ANNAN.

Sen Samuel Nnaemeka Anyanwu has condoled with the family of Koffi Annan and the entire government and people of Ghana on the death of the former Secretary General of the United Nations, Dr. Koffi Annan at the age of 80.

In a release signed by his media aide, Kelechi Eke, the lawmaker who represents Owerri Senatorial District in the National Assembly eulogised the contributions of Koffi Annan as the chief scribe of the UN,  a position he used to promote peace in the world. He described Koffi Annan as a quintessential gentleman and one of the finest diplomats to come out of Africa.

Senator Anyanwu expressed regret that Africa and indeed the world will miss the experience of Dr. Annan who was the winner of the 2011 Novel Peace Price. "He died at a period the global community needs him more", the statement read.

Senator Anyanwu who is also the leading PDP governorship aspirant in Imo State challenged leaders in Africa to emulate the humility, selflessness and doggedness of Dr. Annan in order to change the current political narrative in Africa. He prayed God to grant his soul eternal rest, and give his family the fortitude to bear the loss.
