I Will Restore the Dignity of Imo Workers When Elected.

A leading PDP governorship aspirant, Senator Samuel Anyanwu, has affirmed his commitment to the restoration of the dignity of Imo State Workers when elected the governor of the State by 2019.
Senator Anyanwu disclosed this while addressing PDP Leaders and Delegates at St. Mary's field Iho Ikeduru in the final leg of his State wide visits to consult with the party leaders and delegates on his ambition to clinch the governorship ticket of the party in the September party primaries.
He noted that the civil service is the livewire of any administration and should be adequately compensated, but lamented the current plight of workers in the state where salaries and other welfare packages are negotiated and paid in percentages. He said that payment of workers salary should be a priority and queried the credibility of any government that cannot pay the entitlements of her workers as at when due.
He challenged the Imo State governor to take a cue from his Enugu State counterpart in the overall welfare of her workers, and insisted that Imo State will take the lead when he becomes the governor in 2019.
Senator Anyanwu who currently represents Owerri Zone in the Senate promised to change the trend when elected as the next governor of the State, according to him, "workers need to be happy in order to put in their best for the State". Adding that he maintained a cordial relationship with workers in Ikeduru Local Government which extends till date because he pampered the workers when he was the Executive Chairman of the Local Government.
The governorship hopeful told the PDP party leaders and delegates in Ikeduru that he has not come to Ikeduru to campaign because he is confident of their block vote since Ikeduru will be a major beneficiary of his administration, but he has come to formally inform them of his ambition to fly the party's ticket in the February, 2019 governorship election in Imo State.
Speakers at the occasion testified to the resourcesfulness and hard work of Senator Samuel Anyanwu. They were in agreement that he has used his privileged positions to uplift the people of Ikeduru, and has brought fame and fortune to the land. Some of the speakers included Chief Engr. Emmanuel C. Iwuanyanwu; Owerri Zone PDP Chairman, Chief Bon Unachukwu; PDP Chairman in Ikeduru, Deacon Innocent Offurum among others.
The event featured cultural dance displays and presentation of Holy Bible and other items to Senator Anyanwu.
