Breaking News! 22 Benue law Makers Suspended, Ortom Served Impeachment Notice?
The Suspended Speaker Benue state House of Assembly Hon. Terkimbir Ikyange reconvened the house today 30th July 2018 and suspended 22 members who he alleged illegally reconvened the house while the house was on recess.
The embattled Speaker also sent a letter yesterday to the Benue state Governor Samuel Ortom to report to the state assembly and explain what he did with the Bailout, Paris Club and Domestic Loans incurred by the Federal Government to the state clear the backlog of outstanding salaries , pension and arrears in the State or face impeachment with immediate effect.
Speaker of the House, Terkimbi Ikyange announced this after an emergency sitting of the Assembly today in Makurdi.
The House alleged the embezzlement of Local Government funds to the tune of 33 billion naira, purpoted cornering of State funds, citing the investigation of 22 billion naira at the EFCC and the rampant spending of State funds in search of party platforms to contest and other issues...
The House which accused the governor of gross underperformance without reasonable projects to commission, announced the suspension of majority of its members saying the Honourable Members would not sit back to see the governor plunge the state into chaos.
