Exclusive: Slavechizzy Changes Stage Name to Jkobi

It has been officially declared that Slavechild a.k.a Kunta Kinte recently changed his stage name to J.Kobi. According to this prolific emcee, a lot seems to have changed about his personality and career. This rapper recently featured on our blog J.KOBI TALKS MARRIAGE, HIP HOP AND NOOBVEE'S BEEFand the interview was granted to him as a honour for his traditional marriage earlier this month. The interview published went viral within minutes.

This hip-hop  head was the most controversial rapper in Benue and middlebelt Nigeria at large when he was referred to as SLAVECHILD. No emcee or rapper around this axis dared to step on his fame because he was a backstage freestyle battle word Lord. Who was ever ready to spit venom. This rapper attained the position of the illest Freestyler in Benue since late Slum Child and Jiggydu. Some of his controversial songs seemed to taint his image as a patriotic citizen however that didn’t pull him back. Instead he called his style street music. He kept it strictly underground and recorded over 400 songs in 10 years and 45 songs for a single mixtape he called Kunta Kinte Da Mixtape.

This songwriter is versatile, counter creative and dynamic whence the reason he was an O.A.P (On Air Presenter) with Radio Benue 95FM and Harvest 103.5FM. He was called Radiojack on air and had a lot of listenership around Benue and beyond. As an OAP he hosted over 30 celebrity interviews with top stars such as Zaaki, 2face, Blackface, Romeo Nyamatsa, AJ-Natives, Terry Tha Rapman, Overdose, Pherowshus, Krispins, Jiggydu, Cupastonce, Wanamase, Kidda EM, King Nyama, Noobvee, Jay Sign, Soulclems, Fricky Sticky, George Nize, M.G.M etc.

SLAVECHIZZY as he is often called by his fans went to Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Makurdi; Mount Saint Michael’s Secondary School,  Aliade and Benue State University, Makurdi. He has a diploma (2nd class upper) and a Degree in Mass Communication (2nd class upper). When asked the need for name change, he said a lot of his fans complained about the perceived negative impact of the name (Slavechild) and during Benue Mixtape Xclusive launch at Places and Times, Zaaki Adzer, Davidorado and H316 insisted he changed his stage name. He added that beside that, marriage has made him responsible. 

J.kobi as he is now called has totally transformed from an underground battle emcee to this modern day contemporary music also known as Trap Music. Kobi is planning to drop a mixtape come December titled TORGODOBI The TrapTape. According to thSle rapper cum trapster, he is working on getting Ycee, Dremo, Young6 and Blackbones to jump on some of the joints. Jkobi is about to drop IKAAMASE as the first official single for TORGODOBI The TrapTape this weekend.

The rapper revealed to Jeezitainment that J.Kobi is brand coined from Jacob, his real name. Jacob Imande as he is officially referred to is a Tiv biy from Vandeikya, Benue State.
