Forbes Top 5 Hip-Hop’s Wealthiest Artists 2017

Forbes has released a list of the top 5 Hip-hop wealthiest artists in 2017, just after putting out a list of top 10 richest African musicians. Bad Boy Entertainment CEO Sean Combs better known as Diddy still holds on to the crown as the richest rapper alive.  Closely followed on the list is Jay-Z who happens to be the biggest gainer on the list.

Jay Z’s fortune has jumped 30% in the past year after a $200 million investment from Sprint reportedly put the valuation of his music-streaming service, Tidal, at $600 million, more than 10 times what he paid for the company two years ago.

This is the first time Jay-Z will top Dr Dre on the list since 2014. Others on the list are Birdman and Drake who made his first appearance on the list last year after 50 Cent was eliminated on reasons of bankruptcy.

1. Diddy – $820 Million
2. Jay-Z – $810 Million
3. Dr Dre – $740 Million
4. Birdman – $110 Million
5. Drake Graham – $90 Million
