Earlier this week the NEC, ASUU National had sent some delegates to Benue State University ASUU Chapter upon receiving a request from the Chairman requesting the permission from the National body to proceed on strike. The ASUU BSU chapter in a congress that lasted for hours interacted with the team which had investigated and delebrated on several issues affecting members of the union ranging from unpaid Earned academic allownaces EAA, absence of an Insurance Policy for members, Pension Scheme, Appointment of Principal Officers in the University by the government and delayed payment of staff salaries, payment of death benefits to its members.
The Vice Chancellor of the University Prof. Moses Msugh Kembe who also attended the meeting, pleaded with members to be patient as all is being put together to resolve issues raised by Members and it will be addressed soonest.
